PORT OF TOLEDO FAMILY BOAT BUILD 2013 March 25-29 (Spring Break) at the Toledo Community Boathouse The Port of Toledo is hosting a Family Boat Build over Spring Break – March 25 through 29. At the end of the event, each family will own the boat they built together. The boat to be built is a QT Skiff, a flat bottomed, plywood boat capable of holding two adults, light enough to be carried on top of a car, and being powered by a trolling motor or outboard of up to a maximum of 5hp. The build will happen March 25-29 – Spring Break for Lincoln County schools – and will be held in the Toledo Community Boathouse at the docks in Toledo. It is scheduled to start at 10am and last four hours each day. There is space to build four boats by four groups (families or teams.) There is a $200 per group participation fee and each group must have at least four participants over the age of 12. Each group will assemble, shape, and sand their boat using power and hand tools, then paint it. All materials will be provided – there are no additional costs. Instruction and supervision will be provided by Toledo Community Boathouse volunteers. Participation is First Come, First Served, determined by when the group’s $200 check arrives at the office of the Port of Toledo. P.O.
